Write your Rootscamp session idea here. It can be a well organized session or just a conversation you want to make sure to have with people once you're there. Again, most sessions will come together on Saturday, but this is a really great place to start bouncing ideas off of one another.

Ex 1: Text messaging: do's and don'ts

Ex 2: I want to talk to field folks about what tools worked and didn't work. Anyone else want to join up in the conversation? Email me at email at email dot com

  • I'd like to do a session on news tracking with or without tools like Managing News together with other folks who are tracking public online and offline conversations. Ideally on Saturday afternoon. Alex Barth (text: 202-316-9043).
  • I'd like to learn about micro-cable buys, what demographic targeting is possible, and how well they can be targeted for small geographical regions, e.g. legislative districts. -Josh Berezin
  • I'd like to co-create more fun ways to organize (increase membership, increase activation level, increase revenues, increase volunteer numbers etc.) Gary krane, DavidvGoliath@gmail.com, username FunActivist
  • How to make sure your votes get counted: Tips for voter registration drives, election protection efforts, what to do when the results don't smell right. Rebecca Wilson, SAVE our Votes, rebecca@saveourvotes.org
  • I'd be happy to do a session on wikis and issue or electoral campaigns. I run the Congresspedia.org wiki, where our WikiTheVote project has been busy building profiles on all the congressional candidates that anyone, including the campaigns and those of their opponents, can contribute to (rigorous sourcing standards apply). - Conor Kenny
  • I'd like to hear ideas for distributed (crowd-sourced) research and reporting relevant to the 2008 elections. I'm already involved in the Superdelegate Transparency Project and WikiTheVote. What about a mashup of Google Maps and reports of problems at polling stations? What other ways can we put willing e-volunteers to work? - Conor Kenny
    • I'd be interested in participating in this crowd sourced, distributed research session. There is some interesting work being done by the Chicago Justice Project [1] on this topic.--Lilaurah 21:42, 10 April 2008 (EDT)
  • Anybody want to do a session on online -> offline volunteer organizing? I can go over what we've learned at MoveOn over the last few years--with both electoral organizing and issue organizing. Would be fun to do this with a few other folks who have experience figuring this out. Let me know. Matt Ewing: matt at moveon dot org
  • ROUND TABLE ON VOLUNTEER FIELD PERSUASION PROGRAMS - for field junkies who want to take their game to the next level. How to maximize those precious final few voter contacts with undecided voters (2,3,4s). Most importantly how to turn your volunteers into masters of persuasion, ready to phonebank twice as much. I'm interested in giving a quick overview of the program I've run, and comparing notes with what's worked for other folks.
  • If there's interest, I'd be happy to do a Dodd for President campaign technology debrief, including what we did with Drupal, other open source software and other open technology platforms.
